Twinning of Skål International Bahías de Huatulco and Skål International Oaxaca
On 21st June 2025 Skål International Bahías de Huatulco traveled to the city of Oaxaca to attend the first twinning ceremony of Mexico's youngest club: Skål International Oaxaca.
This twinning is a natural fit, as they are sponsors of the Oaxaca Club and share similarities and joint projects aimed at promoting tourism in this beautiful state. In a spectacular traditional 'Calenda' starting from the Santo Domingo temple, they made their way to the official event venue.
At El Parían Atelier, hosted by chef and Skålleague Israel Loyola, a solemn and official ceremony was held during which certificates were signed, joint agreements were read aloud, and a heartfelt exchange of gifts, crafted by Oaxacan artists, took place, along with the presentation of club pennants. A memorable twinning was beautifully celebrated.
The evening was further elevated by an elegant Oaxacan gourmet dinner, featuring a selection of spectacular dishes accompanied by fine Mexican wines and the iconic national spirit, mezcal.
The twinning concluded on a high note on Sunday the 22nd, with a hands-on experience in traditional Oaxacan cheese-making, followed by a scenic tour of Etla and a delightful tasting at Tierra del Sol, the restaurant of esteemed chef and Skålleague Olga Cabrera.
